Licensed to practice in the United States Court of Appeals for the Tenth Circuit, the United States District Courts for the Districts of Colorado and New Mexico, and in the State of Colorado.  He has been admitted pro hac vice in actions in the United States District Courts for the Northern District of Illinois and the Northern District of New Jersey, and in the States of Delaware, Illinois, New Mexico, North Carolina, Texas, and West Virginia.

Attorneys surveyed in Colorado have given Paul Gordon a "very high" rating in both legal ability and professional standards.  On October 1, 2004, after practicing law for twelve years, he started a new firm to represent individuals and businesses on claims of attorney malpractice and to represent attorneys accused of misconduct or malpractice when they do not have liability insurance. In addition, Paul helps attorneys resolve professional disputes with clients and colleagues and has at times served as an expert witness in legal malpractice cases. His mission is to aggressively and successfully represent clients, while at the same time treating all attorneys with the decorum appropriate for the complexities of practicing law.

Paul has been successful in trial and in obtaining settlements for victims of legal malpractice. In 2011, he helped a client obtain a judgment against an attorney in the amount of $900,000 for fraudulent over-billing. In 2010, he helped a client recover $1,350,000 from attorneys who prepared false documents they submitted to a judge during an ongoing lawsuit. In 2005, he helped a client obtain a judgment against an attorney who intentionally disclosed the client's confidential information to embarrass the client and who then instructed an associate attorney to destroy evidence.

In addition, he has been successful in obtaining verdicts and settlements for victims of accounting malpractice. In 2009, Paul helped clients obtain settlements exceeding $300,000 against an accountant who made misrepresentations to the IRS. In 2007, a jury rendered a verdict against accountants for negligence in their advice about the value of a business and rendered a verdict against the sellers of the business for negligent misrepresentation.

Also, Paul has been successful in obtaining verdicts and settlements for clients with major physical injuries. He was the lead trial attorney who helped a client obtain one of the ten largest verdicts in the State of Colorado in 2004. The jury rendered a verdict in the amount of $1,120,000 for substantial injuries she received in a collision between a passenger car and a tractor-trailer rig. The judge added approximately $600,000 in interest due to the many years the trucking company denied responsibility for the injuries. In three other cases, he helped clients negotiate settlements totaling $2,800,000 for physical and emotional injuries.

Further, Paul has been successful in commercial litigation. In 2011, he helped clients obtain approximately $5,000,000 in judgments against two companies in Florida engaging in a fraudulent pre-construction financing scheme. He acquired a summary judgment in defense of a mid-sized corporation and recovered approximately $300,000 on the corporation's counterclaims. In federal court, he defended a small South Carolina business in a dispute with a major national franchiser.

Finally, he is a founding member and the senior partner of Gordon & Melun
, which he helped form in November of 2013. After more than nine years of solo practice, he decided to join with other attorneys to offer more diverse legal services to a wide variety of clients from all over the State of Colorado and the United States.

Paul has been happily married since 1995 to his wife, Andrea, who teaches math in Denver. In 2011 she won the Presidential Award for Excellence in Mathematics Teaching. Andrea is also a talented flutist. Both Paul and Andrea enjoy traveling and exploring ancient places like Pompeii, Machu Picchu, and Mont Saint-Michel.
